So today I saw an article in my hometown paper about a supreme court case on medicinal marijuana.  Turns out that the supreme court voted that state laws allowing marijuana for medical reasons do not protect people from federal prosecution.  Is  it just me or does this ruling seem entirely pointless?  I mean, the federal and state laws are entirely separate.  This ruling doesn't change anything.  State cops still base their actions on state law.  Hell, in Pueblo, the cop would probably give you tips on growing more potent stuff.  Useless repetetive bullshit like this in our government pisses me off.

Another issue is whether or not the federal government should have the authority to restrict marijuana at all in conflict with state law.  It's even debatable whether any part of the United States gov't should be able to illegalize marijuana.  But that's a different topic.
